CHATHAM HEMP WORKSHOP
Major Design Project in Level 6 2023-24
Combining the understanding of branding and circular systems, this project required envisioning an alternative circular future for the Dockyard in Chatham, that would benefit the locals and wider area. The proposal required the evaluation, reuse and adaptation of local spaces and components, and the environmentally focused utilisation of “unseen” and many times neglected resources for sustainable production of energy, products, or services. My project was a public, open-access workshop and hemp farm used for hobby wood works as well as courses on modular builds while introducing the community to hemp wood. The project combined circularity in material while highlighting the importance of youth engagement and curiosity within the community.
